In collaboration with biomedical engineers and chemists the Magness Lab is developing state-of-the-art methods and novel technologies to provide high content and robust readouts to test hypothesis focused on understanding stem cell and niche dynamics at the single-cell level.

A strong collaboration with Dr. Nancy Allbritton 's Group has resulted in powerful microtechnologies to faciliate high-throughput screening and post-hoc image analysis of single intestinal epithelial stem cells and the enteroids or colonoids that are derived from a single stem cell.

We anticipate these developing technologies are essential for detailed analysis of a variety of factors controlling stemness. These technologies can be applied to any stem cell type and are scalable to provide unprecedented clonogenic analysis.
